UD's Music Program

Very few things REALLY get to me, but one thing has really been getting to me lately. UD's music program is SO sub-par. I feel like I made a big mistake going there for music. On Sunday, the UD Orchestra played Handel, Vaughan Williams, and Saint-Saens' Organ Symphony. The first two were excellent (mostly because they were conducted by a different conductor). The Saint-Saens was TERRIBLE. I walked out and was just so displeased. The marching band is a joke. The director treats us like little kids. Players are wasting their time running around the field and jumping around and messing around. Apparently, they have time to do that but they don't have time to worry about their spot on the field and how it relates to the people around them. UGH! It's so frustrating!! There's no maturity to that program whatsoever. It's VERY aggravating. I was just upstairs watching last year's field show and it was just bad. No lines were straight, nothing. The only good thing was the music, with respect to articulation, etc. This is not me. I don't like JUST OK. I don't like mediocre. And that's all this program is about. AHH! I just need to get through these last two years and I'll be ok.

I dunno. Leave me some love. I need it.
